Our school depends on volunteers and value their contributions to enhance the programs and services provided for students. Volunteers are important members of CES and help our staff sustain effective learning environments, enrich the education and experiences of students and build critical partnerships to increase achievement for all students. Volunteers are essential to the educational process, as they bring knowledge and skills into our school and strengthen classroom instruction.
VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS
All volunteers, including BCPS employees from other schools or offices, must complete the volunteer application and participate in an orientation/training session annually. Volunteers will not be permitted in the building until the volunteer application is complete and approved. Volunteers must complete the training and submit paperwork each school year.
Step 1: Complete the BCPS Application for Volunteer Services annually.
Step 2: Complete the online volunteer orientation.
You will be provided with a certificate once you successfully complete the training.
Step 3: Submit the application and the valid training certificate to the school at least a week in advance of volunteering. Both documents must be submitted at the same time to be reviewed by the school staff. Documents can either be sent in to school or emailed together as a PDF. We cannot accept photographs of the documents.
Volunteers who would like to be a chaperone on a field trip must submit all required paperwork at least a week before the selection of chaperones in order to be considered.
If you need assistance with the application or training, please contact the school office or email Mrs. Antlitz, the school volunteer coordinator.
