For reporting a student absence: You do not need to notify the school in advance. If you would like to, please email the school office. Please note that all absences require a written note or email from a parent or legal guardian in order to be excused*. The note must include the following:
Name of student
Name of homeroom teacher
Date(s) of absence
Reason for absence
Signature of parent or legal guardian
*Not all absences will be excused. Absences are coded in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR).
Dismissal Changes: Dismissal changes must be in writing and signed by a parent or legal guardian. Dismissal changes should be sent in with your student on the day of the change. In the event of an emergency, we can accept an email if we have the parent or legal guardian's email on file. Please email dismissal changes no later than 12 noon. Please note: students are only permitted to ride a bus if they are assigned as a bus rider to that bus.
